My family and I were excited to eat at this restaurant. We arrived and were greeted by 2 very friendly and enthusiastic staff. The meal was good and presentation was great. It was not the best Kobe we have had in Japan but it wasn’t bad. The one aspect that was bothersome happened at the end when my husband paid the bill. It is not customary to tip on meals in Japan because service is assumed included in the price. Our bill was over $700 for 3 people. The chef asked if my husband would like to leave a 18, 20 or 22% tip on top of this and asked which of the 2 of them would get what. My husband felt trapped. This is the first time this had ever happened to us in Japan and it was off-putting after a very expensive meal.
